Time isn’t your problem. Focus is.
By Ryan Yockey
Here’s how I create 10 extra hours a week.
Time management isn’t about doing more—it’s about doing what matters.
In today’s work, the requests for us to give our time away to other people and activities are endless. Looking ahead to 2025, this is the time for new year’s resolutions, renewal, and refresh.
Want to start 2025 off with a clean slate? I’m partnering with Clockwise to offer quick, easy tips to get your calendar in tip-top shape.
These 7 tactics help me protect my time, boost focus, and actually get things done:
1️⃣ Protect your deep work hours with Clockwise
Block uninterrupted time automatically. Clockwise optimizes your calendar to align with your focus zones. Game-changer.
2️⃣ Batch similar tasks together
Switching between tasks wastes mental energy. Group emails, meetings, or creative work into dedicated blocks.
3️⃣ Schedule “No Meeting” days
One meeting-free day a week can boost productivity dramatically. Use it to focus on strategic work or projects that require creativity.
4️⃣ Use time-blocking for EVERYTHING
Give every task on your to-do list a time slot on your calendar. If it’s not scheduled, it’s not happening.
5️⃣ Master the “2-minute rule”
If a task takes less than 2 minutes, do it immediately. It clears your mental clutter and reduces procrastination.
6️⃣ Plan tomorrow tonight
Before shutting down for the day, map out your top three priorities for tomorrow. You’ll wake up knowing exactly where to start.
7️⃣ Audit your time weekly
Look back at how you spent your time last week. Where can you eliminate distractions or reallocate time to higher-value activities?
Time isn’t just money—it’s your life. Manage it well, and everything else falls into place.
