I’ve been in sales since I was 12 years old—that’s nearly 50 YEARS OF SALES EXPERIENCE! 💪
My first job was delivering newspapers. I rode my bike 8 miles a day, starting with 109 newspapers.
But I quickly noticed something… I was riding past plenty of houses that didn’t get the paper!
💡 Why not turn those houses into new customers?
I was already passing their homes, so selling them a subscription meant more money without much extra work. That’s when I learned one of the most important lessons in sales: Look for opportunities right in front of you!
Over the next 10 years, I grew my route from 109 to 249 subscribers and eventually graduated from my bicycle to a moped! 🛵
Looking back, that newspaper route taught me lessons I still use today in hotel sales and marketing.
✅ Look for opportunities.
✅ Ask for the business.
✅ Work smarter, not harder.
✅ Grow your customer base one sale at a time.
Sales isn’t just about selling. It’s about seeing opportunities others miss!
